Big Data is already part of the strategy of Brazilian companies
The term Big Data , widely discussed in the market, is no longer confined only to the field of technology. Today is considered a business priority because of its ability to point solutions for short and long term challenges , inspiring changes in processes , organizations, industries and even in society.
Based on this scenario , IBM's consulting division, in partnership with the University of Oxford, conducted the study " Analysis of data : the actual use of Big Data in the world ." The survey included 1,144 respondents from 95 countries , including 65 companies in Brazil, and aimed to identify how Big Data is being applied within organizations. Among the main findings is the fact that companies are using Big Data to achieve results focused on understanding and improving the customer experience (53%) , explore internal data and build a database with reliable information. However, the technical ability of professionals to support the first stage of its application is the main obstacle noted by Brazilian respondents .
The survey also kitted out that three out of four organizations have Big Data activities underway and one in four is either in pilot / proof of concept or implementation project . The impact on the labor market is already felt by the demand for professionals who know how to identify Big Data application opportunities to generate new business . In our interactions with customers , identified in recent years a greater interest in the subject technology by the leaders of Marketing and Business , increasing their active participation in projects that were sole responsibility of the CIO and IT teams .
